Huntingdon Valley Beats Cedarbrook 2-0 Behind Camp's Shutout and Bobby Leonard's 2 RBI's

Huntingdon Valley (HV) needed a complete game from Brian Camp (7 IP, 6 hits, 9 K's) to beat Cedarbrook (CB) 2-0 in a close, well played baseball game. HV scored runs in their first and last at bats for the only runs of the game

"In these type games you need to make the most of your opportunities" Coach Evan Horn said "We pushed both runs across with one out and runners at third base, Bobby (Leonard) laid down a great bunt and Jared (Licht) read the play perfect"

The game started with HV jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead when Lou Palmer and Jesse Goldstein both singled. Leonard stepped to the plate and drove in the games first run.

Brian Camp worked in and out of trouble for most of the game but seemed to always control his emotions en route to his masterful pitching performence.

"Brian is a type of pitcher that wants the ball and wont quit until the final out" Horn continued "He always gives me a great effort. We are talking about a pitcher that has started 8 games this season and has ended 8 games this season, thats right 8 complete games"

HV scored its final run when Leonard used a squeeze bunt to score Licht.

Camp came out in the bottom of the 7th inning and worked out of a first and second jam to close out the win for HV.

"We are sitting at 8-11 for the season with 7 one run losses, we could very well be sitting in the middle of the playoff race but we didnt really learn how to win until now. I really wish we could start the season over" Horn said "I am losing a few players this season that I really wish could have played another year under me but we cant change bithdays so we must build for the future and that will be a positive Huntingdon Valley baseball team"

HV closes out the season this weekend with 2 home games, Friday and Sunday night
